Michele Alcorn is a Manager at Carmichael, Brasher, Tuvell & Company has been with the firm since 1997.  Michele received her Bachelor’s of Science in Accountancy from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.  She became a CPA in 2002 and has worked in public accounting for more than 14 years.  Michele previously had two years of experience working in the accounting department of a financial institution.   As a CPA, she performs Audits, Reviews Compilations and Agreed-upon Procedures of Governmental and Non-Governmental entities and prepares Business and Individual tax returns.  Michele is an active member in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association of Government Accountants.

Barbara has been a CPA since 1988, after graduating from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.  Prior to becoming a CPA Barbara was an Internal Auditor, Senior Accountant and an Accounting Manager in small to medium size companies with concentration in the service industry.  As a CPA she has performed Audits of government and non-government entities, prepared corporate and personal tax returns, and aided companies with streamlining their accounting functions and with business development.   Barbara has been a member of our firm since 2005.

Chris Carmichael is a staff accountant and auditor at Carmichael, Brasher, Tuvell & Co. Chris has been with Carmichael, Brasher, Tuvell, & Co. since the summer of 2009.  He has a bachelor's degree in Accountancy and a certificate in Public Accounting from Northern Arizona University.  He is currently taking the CPA exam and hopes to become certified within a year.

Mr. Carrollton has over 15 years of experience auditing both commercial and governmental entities.  He has supervised or managed audits ranging from county governments to mid-size businesses.  He holds a current CPA in Georgia and is also a Certified Fraud Examiner.  Mr. Carrollton is an active member in the AICPA, Ga Society of CPAs, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Association of Government Accountants and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association.  Mr. Carrollton and his wife live in the Woodstock area.  They have one son.

Van graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1978.  After working as a staff accountant with Hayes Aircraft in Birmingham, Alabama, Van accepted a position with IRS Inspection Services as an Internal Auditor in the Atlanta Regional Office.  During his five year tenure with the IRS, Van obtained his Certified Internal Audit Certificate.  In 1983, Van transferred to the Department of Labor Atlanta Regional Inspector General’s Office, where he worked until his retirement in 2006.  During his tenure with Labor, Van obtained his CPA in 1984, and served as an Assistant Regional Inspector General from 2001 until his retirement.  In 2007, Van joined Carmichael Brasher and Tuvell primarily to assist in audits of federal government entities.

Jim, a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor, obtained his accounting degree from Georgia State University.  Prior to joining the Firm in 2003, Jim served as Audit Manager for the Department's of Treasury and Labor Office of Inspectors General within the Federal Government. Jim has over 40 years experience in performing financial and program audits of Federal government agencies at the national, state and local levels. Jim has been called upon to serve as an expert witness during hearings before Federal Administrative Law Judges.
